About
John Walker started as a grocer in Kilmarnock in 1820, not a distiller. He pioneered the art of blending whisky from different casks to achieve consistent flavour — a radical idea at the time. This 10-year blend carries that legacy: a marriage of roughly 40 malt and grain whiskies sourced across Scotland, including Talisker, Caol Ila, and Cardhu. The formula is time-tested: grain whisky provides the foundation (65–80%), while malts (20–35%) contribute depth and character. The result balances sweetness with structure, approachable yet layered. On the nose, soft toffee and vanilla lead. The palate opens with sweet apple, barley sugar, and a subtle nutty note, with a hint of oiliness from the grain component. The finish lingers with white pepper, smoke, and dry oak—a warming conclusion that rewards patience.
