About
Green Douglas is a Belgian single grain whisky from Rademacher distillery, bottled by Douglas Laing & Co., the Glasgow-based independent bottler founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing. Since its inception, Douglas Laing has built its reputation selecting and bottling quality whiskies from various producers — and Green Douglas represents an affordable entry into Belgian grain whisky from that tradition. This 5-year-old expression, bottled at 40% ABV, offers a straightforward grain whisky with little pretence to complexity. The nose opens hesitantly with typical bourbon notes: corn, sugar, and breakfast cereals. Coconut then emerges forcefully, reflecting time spent in American oak. On the palate, youthful grain character dominates. This is an uncomplicated dram — a budget-friendly introduction to single grain whisky, pitched at drinkers curious to taste how grain spirit differs from the classical Scotch malt template. At 15 EUR, it asks little and delivers honest grain character.
