The Glenturret Eclosion

Eclosion captures the moment of emergence—for this whisky, the unfolding of flavour from depth into brightness. The Glenturret, Scotland's oldest working distillery, has released this limited edition in just 4,650 bottles, overseen by Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno.

The foundation is European oak PX sherry casks, delivering structure and rich dried-fruit character. Critically, a portion of the spirit matured in American oak puncheon. Though small in volume, The Glenturret emphasises that cask influence isn't measured by size alone—this American wood brings clarity and lift to the whole.

On the nose: bright pineapple, citrus compote, vanilla crème, and gingery oak. The palate sustains that fresh fruitiness—vibrant citrus, pineapple layers, a whisper of orange oil—alongside gentle oak and subtle cinnamon. The finish is warm and elegant, fruity and composed, with well-integrated wood that lingers gracefully.
