Up Helly Aa is Johnnie Walker's tribute to Shetland's legendary fire festival, where Viking traditions ignite in spectacle and ceremony. This 2026 limited edition celebrates that mystical northern heritage with an 8-year-old blended Scotch bottled at 50% ABV. The blend marries premium malt and grain whiskies, primarily matured in American and European oak. A measured portion of Sauternes cask–matured spirit adds extra depth to the recipe. On the nose, vanilla and toffee emerge alongside dried fruits and a whisper of smoke. The palate reveals crème caramel, rich vanilla, lemon zest, and cinnamon pastry notes, with a touch of salted chocolate. The finish is medium-length, balancing sweetness with a lingering warmth.
