About
Matured for a decade in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, this Glenrothes from independent bottler Signatory Vintage amplifies the distillery's natural fruit character rather than masking it. Bottled as Edition #50 of their 100 Proof line, without chill-filtration or added caramel, the whisky retains its full, layered structure. The colour is deep copper-red. On the nose, dark fruits emerge—caramelised figs, dark cherries—alongside toffee apple, orange, and spiced oak. The palate is full-bodied and warming, with raisins, toffee, and a spiced wood depth that never dominates. The finish stretches long and warm. This is a sherried whisky that escapes being a one-note expression, despite the cask strength. The Oloroso influence adds depth without obscuring the Speyside fruitiness—a balance that justifies Signatory's selection of this small batch.
