Touch Of madeira

Cromlech is the brand of Drumlin Distillery in Drenthe, Netherlands, a producer focused on rye whisky. This 'Touch of Madeira' marks their first 6-year release: a classic rye built from 55% house-grown Laureate barley and 45% rye, matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Madeira casks.

The Madeira finish brings rich, fruity character without the cloying sweetness typical of sherry-finished whisky. The result balances rye's characteristic grain bite with the subtle influence of Madeira wine.

On the nose, spring flowers, peach and apricot emerge with a peppery edge. The palate shows full, slightly waxy texture with bright citrus, sweet fruit and a whisper of smoke. The finish lingers pleasantly, with a clingy, ashy quality.
