About
Horse Soldier Bourbon was born from an extraordinary mission: founded by former Green Berets and Special Forces soldiers who were among the first American troops on the ground in Afghanistan following 9/11. The brand honors their camaraderie and service through a wheated bourbon produced at American Freedom Distillery in Columbus, Ohio. This 6-year-old expression uses a mash bill of 70% corn, 20% soft red winter wheat, and 10% barley—a combination that delivers softness and sweetness without the bite of rye. The nose reveals caramel, honey, and grain with gentle spice undertones. The palate brings forward walnuts and prunes, supported by a soft, full body. The finish is warm and lingering, with vanilla and oak fading gracefully. This is a bourbon that doesn't hide its relative youth—it wears it honestly. Direct, approachable, and unpretentious, it rewards those seeking a genuinely sweet bourbon with a story that extends well beyond the glass.
