18 Years Old Napa Valley Wine Cask

Aberfeldy's 18-year-old Napa Valley expression is part of a focused collection in which Highland single malt is finished in American wine casks. After 18 years of maturation in refill and hogshead casks, Aberfeldy finished this whisky for approximately 15 months in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon casks sourced from California, adding a distinct vinous dimension to the Highland character.

The finish in these American red wine casks gives the whisky a full, silky texture with soft tannins and a softening of the spicy notes typical of Aberfeldy. The combination of extended maturation and wine cask finishing creates a balance between malty foundation and red fruit influences.

On the nose, red berries, plum and cherry emerge, complemented by apple, honey and subtle spice. The finish is pleasantly extended, with a gentle spicy bite that fades elegantly.
