Glenallachie 17 Year Old 2009 Single Oloroso Cask #1426

Oloroso Cask
New Release

About

Under Master Distiller Billy Walker's direction, GlenAllachie has built a reputation for exceptional wood management, and this 17-year-old single cask from 2009 exemplifies that craft. Matured in a single Oloroso sherry hogshead (#1426) and bottled in 2026 at natural strength (53% ABV), it is a limited release of just 356 bottles—unfiltered and presented with natural colour. The Oloroso maturation has spent nearly two decades gradually enriching this Speyside malt with layered complexity. The cask coaxes out deep dried fruits, dark chocolate, and warming spice, underpinned by hints of cinnamon, honeycomb, and blood orange. In the glass, this unfolds as unfiltered and unapologetic—precisely how GlenAllachie presents it. The nose delivers mocha, dried stone fruits, cinnamon, and honeycomb, followed by blood orange and damson plums with muscovado sugar and cocoa. On the palate, the sherry maturation remains dominant, with warming spice and dark fruit building into a full, complex finish.
