Single Malt Scotch Whisky Rum Vaak Finish

About
Caol Ila distillery sits on Islay's northeast coast near Port Askaig, founded in 1846. This 2012 vintage is a single malt that embodies the distillery's signature character: smoky and maritime, with an oily richness that sets it apart from lighter Islay expressions. At 13 years old and bottled at 57.10% ABV, this whisky carries weight and presence. The higher strength amplifies the interplay between peat smoke and the underlying sweetness — vanilla and honey notes emerge beneath the ash and brine, creating a whisky with genuine complexity rather than one-note intensity. On the nose, lemon and citrus cut through the smoke; on the palate, a thick mouthfeel carries fruit and vanilla before the finish settles into ashy, peppery smoke. This is a whisky built for contemplation — the kind that rewards patience and reveals new angles with each sip.
