18 Year Old Speyside Single Malt

European OakOloroso Cask

About

Tamdhu was founded in 1897 by a group of entrepreneurs led by William Grant, united by a single ambition: to create the finest whisky in the world. After decades under various ownership, the distillery has undergone a remarkable rebirth under Ian Macleod. This 18-year-old is proof of that renewal: matured entirely in Oloroso casks (both American and European oak), bringing Tamdhu's signature—a rich, fruity spirit—to full maturity. The 18 Year Old embodies Tamdhu's unwavering commitment to 100% sherry cask maturation from start to finish. This is no blend of approaches, but a single vision executed over nearly two decades. The result is dark and inviting—a whisky that rivals far pricier Speyside classics at a fraction of the cost. On the nose: cherries, plums, orange zest, honey, and hazelnut. The palate brings dried fruit, oak structure, and spice into balance, with a creamy texture throughout. The finish is lengthy, with cedar wood, leather, and crystallised fruit lingering long after the glass is empty.
