Drumblade

Drumblade is an independent bottling by Duncan Taylor, a respected independent bottler specializing in cask-finished releases. This 14-year-old blended Scotch was matured in a hogshead and finished in a sherry octave — a compact 63-litre cask that intensifies wood contact and extracts bolder flavours. Duncan Taylor's Octave collection is known for achieving deeper, more concentrated character through these smaller vessels.

The combination of hogshead maturation and sherry octave finishing creates a whisky of considerable depth. On the nose, wood, caramel, and sweet notes emerge. The palate delivers malt, cereal, and a creamy mouthfeel, with the 55.3% ABV providing noticeable presence without harshness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering layers that reflect the sherry influence.
