About
Glasgow 1770 honours the forgotten distilling heritage of Scotland's largest city. The original Glasgow Distillery, founded in 1770, was among Scotland's earliest. The Glasgow Distillery Company revives that legacy with this single malt, crafted in copper pot stills named Tara and Mhairi, using Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine. Matured in virgin American oak, the whisky carries the classic signature of young wood: sweet, confected flavours with sharp spice. This is unpolished, direct spirit—no apology for its youth. On the nose: ripe mango, orange squash, dried pineapple. The palate is silky rather than creamy, layering vanilla, nutmeg, and woody complexity. The finish stretches long, with thickly spread marmalade, spice, and oak that lingers.
