Bankhall British Single Malt is an English single malt from Liverpool, a city with deep whisky heritage. The name honours the original distillery established there in 1790. This is a contemporary venture by Halewood Artisanal Spirits, launched in 2019 to reimagine traditional British whisky-making. The whisky is matured in a blend of ex-bourbon casks (75%) and American virgin oak (25%). The virgin oak contributes its signature vanilla and butterscotch character, while the ex-bourbon casks provide balance and subtlety. In the glass, it presents a deep gold colour. On the nose, toffee, poached pears, candied citrus fruits, figs and sultanas emerge, tempered by sweet vanilla. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with a warm, lingering finish of vanilla and toffee.
