About
Founded in 1825 as a cooperative of local Highland farmers, Edradour's name means 'between two rivers'—a fitting identity for a distillery that has always chosen to stay small, traditional by principle, and bold by nature. Now owned by Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky Company since 2002, Edradour continues its craft-first approach, regularly experimenting with different cask types. This 12-year-old single malt showcases that philosophy: mature and full-bodied, with a thick mouthfeel that unfolds layered flavours. The nose reveals dried fruits—raisins, sultanas, candied orange peel—alongside Manuka honey and soft sherry notes. The palate brings darker elements: black pepper, burnt toast, dark chocolate, and hints of earth and charcoal. A subtle salinity and cured tobacco note linger through the finish, which is warm and lingering. This is a whisky that rewards attention—not for intellectual complexity, but for its chewy, dessert-like character and depth of flavour. A dram that fills the glass completely.
