Collaboration Drop 03
About
Turntable Spirits, the Glasgow-based blending house founded by brothers Gordon and Ally Stevenson, makes whisky the way DJs mix records: by bringing different elements into perfect harmony. The name references the DJ turntable and the art of blending. This third Collaboration Drop marks a cross-border partnership with Amrut Distilleries of India—following earlier drops with Australian and Irish partners. The blend is carefully constructed: 36% Amrut first-fill bourbon barrel (barley, apricot, honey), 25% BenRiach ex-Madeira cask (butterscotch, peach), 23% Tamdhu second-fill bourbon barrel (roasted almonds), and 16% Cameronbridge second-fill red wine barrel (banana, cinnamon). This marriage of Indian tropical character and Scottish craftsmanship creates something genuinely distinctive. On nose and palate, rich, sweet, and spicy elements intertwine. Honey and butterscotch layer over ripe peaches, anchored by roasted almonds and subtle spices like cinnamon. The finish rolls in waves of tropical fruit. At 53% ABV, this whisky delivers power and complexity while remaining approachable—add water and it opens further, revealing hidden nuances.
