The Heart Cut
Boann Distillery The Heart Cut #23

2013 12 Year Old Tartan Army Bottling
About
This 12-year-old Tamnavulin is a special vatting for the Tartan Army, Scotland's football supporters. Distilled 14th November 2013 and bottled 26th February 2026, it comprises four ex-bourbon casks—a small, focused selection that underscores the distillery's typical Speyside identity. The release was limited to 1,000 bottles, with every bottle sold donating to the Tartan Army Children's Fund. Tamnavulin means 'mill on the hill' in Gaelic, named after a historic water mill still standing on the distillery grounds. This is a whisky born from classical Speyside thinking: light and approachable, yet with more character than surface appeal. The nose offers soft fruity notes—pear and banana—with a hint of chocolate. The palate is light and well-balanced, with cereal grain and a touch of eucalyptus oil. The finish is short but clean, without clutter. A straightforward, drinkable dram suited to those who favour restraint over spectacle.
