This whisky first matured in bourbon casks (approximately six months) and subsequently in pinot noir casks (approximately thirty months). It is a young whisky and you can taste it. There is some complexity from the second cask maturation, but ultimately it remains a straightforward whisky. I detect some toffee with red fruit coming through. Despite the shorter maturation, the toffee notes dominate for me. I also taste the toffee complemented by vanilla. The fruit also returns in the flavor profile in the form of strawberry and blackberry. It is very subtle; fitting for the pinot noir, which as a rule is not overpowering. In the short finish I detect a slight bitterness. The flavors come together well and with the low alcohol content, this is a very approachable whisky.
This is a youthful single malt whisky from Limburg with a fresh, vibrant character. At just 3 years old, this expression captures the pure essence of the distillation process, presenting a lively blend of fruity and sweet notes. The youthful energy is balanced by subtle wood influences that are already beginning to emerge.
On the nose, fresh fruit aromas unfold, complemented by hints of vanilla and light caramel notes from the young cask. The palate is clean and direct, with a pleasant combination of grain and sweet elements. The finish is relatively short but pleasant, with a warm, spicy aftertaste that underscores the youthful vitality of this whisky.
