The Gauldrons Core Edition Eclipse 2025

Big Peat 2010 Feis Ile 2025
This blended malt emerged from a deliberate partnership between Mossburn and Domaine Dupont, a Normandy-based Calvados producer with heritage reaching back to 1887. It is the second release in Mossburn's Cask Collaboration Series—a project where two producers from different categories combine their craft and knowledge. Single malts from four Speyside distilleries were aged for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks, then married together and finished in French oak barrels previously used for Calvados and Pommeau, both regional specialities.
The Master Distiller deliberately chose malts with spicy florality and nutty character to interact during the secondary maturation with the baked apple and oaky spice imparted by the Calvados casks. The result is a well-rounded complexity—not a generic blend, but a considered dialogue between two spirits traditions.
On the palate: red apple, ginger and nut brittle emerge alongside viscous weight and a spicy finish. Bottled at cask strength (57.2%), natural colour and without chill filtration—preserving the full texture and intensity of this uncommon finishing approach.
