50 Year Old 1974 Single Grain
About
This exceptional Invergordon 50 Year Old stands as a monument to patience and craftsmanship. Distilled in November 1974 and matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels, this Highland single grain embodies five decades of Scottish distilling tradition. Invergordon, the Highlands' only grain distillery, has long been celebrated for producing smooth, refined grain whiskies that form the backbone of Scotland's finest blended Scotches. The nose reveals a beautifully balanced complexity: roasted pineapple, creamy coconut, and milk chocolate mingle with raisins and nutty undertones. The palate delivers rich vanilla, warming spice, and waves of buttery fudge, followed by tangy notes of gooseberry. A smooth, polished oak character and subtle fruit notes weave throughout, leading to a long, luxurious finish where caramel sweetness, wood spice, and citrus gradually fade. This is grain whisky elevated to an art form.
