About
Torabhaig's 2018 release is a vibrant young single malt from Skye that proves quality demands patience, not necessarily decades. This robust 5-year-old has matured in Scottish oak, delivering a compelling interplay of smoke, spice, and subtle sweetness. The nose reveals pronounced wood smoke, cinnamon, and Demerara sugar, with hints of beech wood, leather, and a touch of apple strudel complexity. On the palate, surprisingly sweet peat emerges with an oily, viscous mouthfeel. Salted caramel and heather honey layer beneath the intense smoke, while the finish stretches long and peppery with saline notes and a distinctly maritime character. This is a whisky for those who embrace smoke and complexity in their glass.
