2014 MM

Cult of Islay 2014 MM is a masterfully composed blended whisky from Murray McDavid, marrying two legendary Islay malts—Bowmore and Laphroaig—with a luscious Lowland single grain from North British Distillery. This 8-year-old expression displays the maturity and refinement rarely seen in contemporary whisky blending.

The nose presents coastal smoke, fresh strawberry, and sweet maple and caramel notes. On the palate, flamed orange peel and savoury smoke mingle with sherry influences, dark chocolate, and anise. The finish is crisp and relatively short, driven by gentle woody and spicy notes with a soft bitterish quality and hints of dried orange peel—a youthful yet well-balanced dram.
