About
Wolfburn's '100 Years Of The Poppy' is a limited-edition tribute to the historic 1921 Poppy Pledge, created in partnership with Carnegie Whisky Cellars. This Highland single malt combines second-fill quarter casks with first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads to create a complex, multi-layered expression. The whisky reflects Wolfburn's distinctive lightly peated character, derived from smoke-dried malted barley—a nod to the distillery's 19th-century heritage. On the nose, this whisky presents an inviting profile of fresh and dried fruit, layered with caramel and honey, accented by subtle smoke. The palate delivers substantial meaty and game-like notes, with dark chocolate, cocoa, and toffee adding richness and depth. A persistent smokiness carries through to a long, intense finish marked by tar, burnt notes, and lingering dried fruit that evolves gracefully.
