About
Orchard House is Compass Box's first core range whisky made almost entirely from spirit the company acquired as newmake and aged in-house. The blend draws from some of Scotland's most fruit-forward distilleries—including Benrinnes, Linkwood, Clynelish, and Aberlour—to create a bright, approachable malt defined by its orchard-fruit character: apples and pears without pretension. Matured in a combination of first fill bourbon, Oloroso, and French oak casks, the blend achieves balance through restraint rather than complexity. This is straightforward, easy-drinking whisky—the kind that doesn't demand attention but rewards repeated visits to the glass. On the nose, crisp orchard fruit dominates: green apple, ripe pear, a hint of citrus, underpinned by vanilla and dried stone fruit. The palate fills out with caramel and dry spice, delivering a pleasant mouthfeel that belies the relative youth of the component whiskies. The finish is clean and warm, toffee and oak fading gently.
