Ardlair is a single malt whisky from Ardmore distillery in Scotland's Highlands. This 10-year-old expression was distilled in April 2014 and bottled by Whisky Import Nederland at cask strength (50.6%). Matured exclusively in a first fill sherry hogshead, it delivers a rich profile shaped by the influence of quality sherry wood, resulting in a complex and approachable dram. The nose reveals beautifully rich malt aromas with butter, lemon and orange peel, complemented by oak and mineral notes. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, offering citrus, wort and bitter herbs with a subtle charred meat character. The finish is warm and lingering, with the sherry influence providing sweetness and depth. This bottling strikes an excellent balance between accessibility and complexity, making it an engaging introduction to quality independent bottlings.
