About
Ledaig is the peaty expression of Tobermory distillery, situated on the Scottish island of Mull. This 2008 vintage bottled by The Daily Dram showcases the distillery's characteristic smoky and maritime character in full expression. The whisky had matured for 12 years before bottling at a robust 53.4% ABV. The nose reveals a captivating blend of sweet peat, citrus notes, and maritime smoke, complemented by hints of honey and vanilla. On the palate, complex flavours emerge—roasted malt, warming spice, and a peppery bite—supported by a creamy, substantial mouthfeel. The finish is long and intense, with persistent smoke and mineral notes reminiscent of salt and iodine, characteristic of this distinctive island distillery.
