Hatozaki Pure Malt takes its name from Japan's oldest stone lighthouse, a historical monument standing in the coastal city of Akashi. The name embodies safety and guidance—fitting symbolism for this blended malt from Kaikyō Distillery, which began production in 2018.

This is a vatting of 100% malt whiskies, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, ex-sherry casks, and Japanese Mizunara oak. The blend bridges Scotch and Japanese whisky traditions, blending imported Scottish spirit with domestic Japanese distillate.
