Highland Park's Old Orkney is a charming 8-year-old single malt from the celebrated Orkney distillery, renowned for its refined balance between smoke and sweet fruit notes. This Decadent Drinks bottling marries bourbon and sherry casks to create a complex profile offering more character than its price suggests. The nose reveals itself gradually: initially vegetal with musty leaves and herbal notes, then dried apricots, raisins and vanilla emerge. Citrus peels and heathery undertones add subtlety. On the palate, it grows richer with caramelised fruit, smoked wood and a salty hint, interspersed with honey and earthy touches. The finish is long and savoury, with black peppercorns, salty peat and heather notes lingering pleasantly.
