Underwater Barbecue is a captivating blended malt from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society that merges two distinct worlds: the richness of oloroso and bourbon cask maturation. This 12-year-old whisky's character is defined by an intriguing interplay of smoke and sweet sherry influences, resulting in a complex and beautifully balanced profile. The nose reveals a bountiful bouquet brimming with floral aromas, smoke-laced wood, and smouldering heather, complemented by sweeter sherry impressions and a hint of singed orange peel. On the palate, a full-bodied experience unfolds with smoke and ash reminiscent of a burning log fire, balanced by sweet brown sugar and chocolate-orange notes.
