Blended Grain 1982 NSS 36 years

5.0 out of 5 (1 review)

North Star Spirits presents a rare and distinguished blended grain from 1982, bottled independently as part of their Batch 008 series. This grain whisky was distilled exclusively from casks filled in July 1982 and bottled in March 2019, capturing over three decades of maturation at a robust 52% ABV. The result is a complex, mature spirit that showcases the depth possible in aged grain whisky.

On the nose, fruity coffee and vanilla ice cream mingle with tobacco and notes of charred oak alongside poached plums. The palate reveals hard toffee and cake with a sugary glaze, complemented by exotic white and yellow fruits and nutty characteristics. The finish is long and increasingly dry, with spicy and herbal bitter notes that develop gracefully toward a lingering conclusion.

This whisky pairs beautifully with toffee-based desserts or vanilla-forward sweets, and rewards contemplative sipping as a sophisticated digestif.
