Born from the legendary Single Oak Project that began in 1999, this whisky emerged from an exhaustive study of 192 unique barrels exploring seven variables that shape bourbon character. Barrel #80 was selected by consumers as the standout expression, and this permanent release faithfully recreates that winning formula with a rye mashbill and distinctive maturation approach.

The nose opens with caramel and vanilla, layered with subtle oak complexity. The palate unfolds in rich, well-balanced layers of toffee, vanilla cream, and honeyed sweetness, accented by seasoned oak and spice. At eight years and 90 proof, this bourbon showcases Buffalo Trace's meticulous research into oak variables—grain size, char level, and stave drying—translating scientific curiosity into a whisky of remarkable balance and depth.
