Ardbeg Dolce is the 2026 Ardbeg Day release, born from an unlikely meeting: Sicily encounters Islay. The name draws from Marsala Dolce, the sweetest style of Sicily's fortified wine, in which this whisky was finished. That year's theme—'La Dolce Vita Islay Style'—fused two islands: the elegance of 1960s Italy with Ardbeg's raw, peaty character.
Finishing in Sicilian Marsala casks marks a first for Ardbeg. The result is a striking balance: sweet, rich influences from the wine cask against Ardbeg's signature peat. On the nose, ripe yellow fruit dominates—apricots, raisins, orange marmalade—layered with citrus zest, toasted nuts, and smoldering smoke. The palate weaves dried fruit, honey, and pepper together with gently charred wood and briny notes, while the finish lingers long and warm.
This is no ordinary Ardbeg. Where many Day releases chase raw power, Dolce pursues refinement—sweet and smoke in conversation, not conflict.
