About
Torabhaig Taigh is the first permanent core range expression from the newly established distillery on the Isle of Skye, representing everything Torabhaig has been working towards: elegance, balance, and character where smoke enhances rather than dominates. The name 'Taigh' means 'house' in Scottish Gaelic, referencing the restored 1800s steading that now houses the distillery in the Sleat Peninsula community. This whisky captures the essence of Skye's dramatic, misty landscapes with a sweet twist. The nose reveals aromas of baked apple pie, maple syrup, and warming spices, complemented by seaside notes and gentle smoke. The palate delivers a smooth, oily experience of vanilla custard, toasted almonds, and sweet dried fruits in perfect harmony. The finish remains gentle yet spirited, with toasted oak and a sprightly touch of tannin that lingers pleasantly. Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring at 46% ABV, Taigh preserves its full complexity and character. A compelling debut from one of Scotland's most intriguing new distilleries.
