The Scallywag 18 Year Old is the oldest expression in the Scallywag range, a blended malt whisky celebrated for its sherried Speyside character. Crafted by Douglas Laing, this whisky is composed entirely of meticulously selected single malts from the Speyside region, offering a rich and layered tasting experience. On the nose, it presents layers of rich burnt sugar and vanilla, with hints of citrus, dates, and sultanas. The palate reveals a complex blend of treacle toffee, black cherry, and subtle cinnamon warmth, complemented by roasted coffee notes and dried fig. The finish is medium to long, with dry, fruity, and spicy tones and a lingering sweetness. To fully appreciate the complexity of this whisky, it is recommended to enjoy it neat, possibly with a drop of water to open up the flavors further.
