Whitlaw 2013 Oloroso Sherry Cask Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited
Whitlaw 2013 The Village Nuremberg 2024
Whitlaw is the anonymous house name used by independent bottlers for whisky distilled at Highland Park, the northernmost distillery in Scotland. This 10-year-old from 2013 was released for THE VILLAGE, the inaugural whisky fair launched in Nuremberg that same year by whisky expert Michael Gradl—an event that has since become an annual gathering for collectors across Europe.
Highland Park's house style shines through: a sweet, honeyed malt with spice and fruit, lightly smoky and underpinned by the distillery's signature heather-honey note from its own peat sourced at Hobbister Moor. Bottled at cask strength (56.3%), it carries enough weight to stand without dilution, though a splash of water will soften the alcohol burn without obscuring the spirit.
On the palate, expect the classic Orkney signature—sweet and spicy, with orchard fruit and a lingering smoky finish. This is Highland Park at 10 years: still vibrant, not yet heavily oaked, with the character that has made the distillery a benchmark for lightly peated island malt.
