Heaven's Door emerged from Bob Dylan's passion for American whiskey and its deep cultural roots. Co-founded by the legendary musician and Marc Bushala—architect of Angel's Envy Bourbon—the brand reflects a commitment to quality and heritage. The Double Barrel blends three sourced American whiskeys: two Tennessee bourbons built on a traditional mash bill and one rye whiskey. Each component matured for six years before spending an additional year in new, heavily charred American oak barrels.
This finishing regimen defines the whiskey's character. The spirit undergoes the Lincoln County Process—charcoal filtration—which contributes clarity and mouthfeel. The result balances caramel sweetness, oak structure, and citrus brightness with a restrained peppery edge.
The nose reveals creamy vanilla and toasted grain, layered with oak spice and almond notes. On the palate, caramel and oak dominate, accented by grapefruit peel, ginger, and subtle mint. The finish remains dry and persistent, with lingering oak and pepper.
