Grant's TRIPPLE Wood Smocky
Grant's Triple Wood is a blended Scotch whisky from William Grant & Sons, the company founded by William Grant in 1887 in Dufftown, Scotland. The 'Triple Wood' designation refers to maturation across three different wood types — a practice the producer has employed for over two decades. Each wood contributes distinct layers: vanilla and sweetness from one, spice from another, and structural depth from the third.
This 40% ABV blend combines malt and grain whiskies. The nose reveals toasted grain, buttered bread, toffee, and hints of walnut — an agricultural, field-forward character that feels more rustic than refined. The overall impression is of cereal and grain rather than polished sophistication.
On the palate, the whisky is soft and approachable, with vanilla taking the lead and balanced by honey and light citrus notes. The finish is brief, befitting its youth and modest strength. This is a working blend rather than a contemplative dram — friendly, unpretentious, and equally at home in a cocktail or as an accessible entry point to Scotch.
