Kinahan's Heritage Collection aims to resurrect one of Ireland's most storied whiskey houses. Founded in 1779 by Daniel Kinahan on Dublin's Trinity Street, the brand was legendary not just for quality but for pioneering the practice of maturing whiskey in wooden casks. By the 19th century, it had gained such prestige that Queen Victoria granted it a Royal Warrant. After decades of decline triggered by American Prohibition and Irish political upheaval, the company reopened in 2014 with the explicit goal of reviving this historic name through authentic bottlings.
The Single Malt Heritage is aged in American bourbon casks, produced in small batches of no more than 30 hand-selected barrels. There's no gimmick here — just a straightforward return to what made Kinahan's matter: deliberate attention to wood and maturation.
