Frysk Hynder takes its name from the Friesian horse — a fitting emblem for this Dutch single malt from Us Heit Distillery in Bolsward. What began as a side project of a brewery grew into the Netherlands' first single malt whisky. The spirit is made from 100% malt sourced from their own malthouse, with no hops added — an approach rooted in their brewing heritage.

The whisky matures for a minimum of three years in used casks. This core expression is bottled at 40% ABV, balancing accessibility with character. The profile centres on malt with notes of sweetness and fruit — typical of young Dutch whisky exploring its own identity between craft tradition and experimentation.
