Currach takes its name from a traditional Irish boat of wicker, animal hides and tar—a craft dating back to the Neolithic period. This single malt is a fusion of two terroirs: Irish barley and a Mexican mezcal finish, an unconventional pairing that creates something genuinely unusual.
The whisky matures first in casks charred with Atlantic kombu seaweed from Ireland—a process imparting umami notes and mineral sweetness. A subsequent finish in mezcal casks introduces earthy minerals, citrus and subtle smoke.
