Pure Malt

Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a blended malt whisky combining Scotch and Japanese single malts, produced by Matsui Shuzo in Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture. Founded in 1910, the distillery draws its water from the slopes of Mount Daisen. The brand's name derives from the Japanese phrase "Kurashiyoshi" — meaning good living.

The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks for a minimum of three years and bottled at 45% ABV. It aims for balance between Scottish and Japanese expressions, approachable without compromise.

On the palate, malty sweetness sits alongside crisp apple notes that prevent cloying richness. The finish is dry and gently warming, with a clean, unforced fade.
