This Lagavulin 1991 21 Years was carefully selected by the distillery team and Ivan Menezes, CEO of Diageo, to mark Lagavulin's bicentennial. Production was limited to just 522 bottles, making this bottling a rare moment in the distillery's history.

Matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks, this whisky builds its character around a core of dark, woody smoke and roasted notes. The sherry influence adds richness without overwhelming Lagavulin's signature peatiness—instead, it deepens the complexity.

On the nose: leathery peat, cold ashes and deep smoke, followed by pepper and cardamom. On the palate: charred meat, jalapeños and honey, with tar and hot cinnamon candy. The finish holds long, with that same jalapeño-honey combination persisting.
