Talisker Surge launched in 2022 as a travel retail exclusive, a relatively recent addition to the legendary Isle of Skye distillery's range. This whisky's character hinges on its maturation: 100% ex-bourbon casks, which yields a brighter, less weighty profile than Talisker's classic 10-year-old.

The nose reveals an interesting duality — sweet vanilla and honey from the bourbon, combined with Skye's characteristic peated, maritime signature. Salty and medicinal, with hints of iodine and ashy smoke.

On the palate, the texture is light and dry, with citrus fruit notes (green apple, lime) and subtle peppery warmth. The finish is short and clean, with a lingering echo of toffee and smoke.
