Bushmills claims to be the world's oldest licensed whisky distillery, a distinction rooted in 1608 when King James I granted Sir Thomas Phillips a distilling licence in the County Antrim village of Bushmills. This 10-year-old single malt continues that heritage: triple-distilled using the traditional Irish method, which delivers a soft, approachable spirit without the harshness found in many other whiskies.
The whisky matures for at least a decade in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks—a pairing that brings honey, vanilla, and dried apricot without dominating the profile. The result is notably balanced: not complex enough to captivate a collector, but solid and genuinely pleasant.
