Asava Indian Single Malt

Rampur Asava marks a world first: the inaugural Indian single malt finished in Indian wine casks. After initial maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, this expression was completed in Cabernet Sauvignon casks sourced from India itself—a bold move by Radico Khaitan's distillery nestled in the Himalayan foothills. The result is a whisky distinguished by wine-cask influence without the typical sherried sweetness.

The nose reveals tropical fruit—apricot, blackberry, plum—layered with tobacco and spice. The palate unfolds with silky honey sweetness, anchored by spiced oak and vanilla, balanced by the dry tannins of red wine. The finish brings dried fruit forward, with lingering vanilla and honey, rounded by subtle, dry spice.

Non-chill-filtered and released in limited quantity, this 45% expression speaks to those seeking whisky beyond Scottish convention while demanding full flavour composition.
