Gordon & MacPhail Connois 1995

5.0 out of 5 (1 review)

Gordon & MacPhail have been drawing from their Elgin cellars since 1895, producing some of Scotland's most coveted independent bottlings. This Glen Spey, distilled in 1995 and aged for 22 years before bottling in March 2018, represents their craft at its finest: only 650 bottles were released from this single cask. Two decades of maturation in traditional wood yielded a whisky of full maturity and layered complexity.

The nose reveals ripe fruit—banana, pear, and pineapple—layered with vanilla and hints of crème brûlée, with jasmine emerging beneath. The palate is thick and creamy, balancing fruit-forward character with measured oak influence that speaks to careful cask selection. The finish is long and warming, the 22 years of age evident in its depth and persistence.
