Signature

Loch Lomond Signature is a blended Scotch whisky with roots stretching back to 1814, when the first distillery was established on the northern shore of Loch Lomond. The modern incarnation was founded in 1964 by Duncan Thomas, an American innovator whose unconventional thinking transformed the distillery's approach. This blend follows an unusual path: malt and grain whiskies are married and then matured further in the distillery's 100-cask Solera system, a technique more commonly associated with sherry production.

The Solera method creates continuity and layered character. Each cask holds whiskies of varying ages that gradually integrate, producing a consistent house style without relying on a single age statement.

On the nose, sweet and fruity notes emerge—vanilla, butterscotch, toffee, and green apple. The palate opens with dried fruit and sherry character, followed by gentle summer spices, creamy oak, and a whisper of smoke that adds subtle complexity. The finish is clean and dry, with lingering hints of herbal tea and cocoa. A well-balanced, approachable blend that works neat or with water.
