Founded in 2016 by Taiko Nakamura, Shizuoka Distillery sits in the Okuzashiki region of Shizuoka Prefecture, along the Nakakouchi River. The distillery carries a unique heritage: Nakamura salvaged historic pot stills from a now-defunct legendary Japanese distillery, giving them new purpose. The Pot Still W stands apart for its commitment to 100% Japanese barley—a rare choice in Japan, where most distilleries rely on imported malt.

Bottled at 55.5% ABV, this First Edition delivers an unfiltered, full-strength expression of what Japanese barley can achieve. The spirit was matured in a combination of bourbon and wine casks, lending the characteristic interplay between fruit and oak.
