Grave Digger Bone Collector by

4.8 out of 5 (1 review)

This single malt is the unlikely result of a collaboration between St. Kilian Distillers in Bavaria and German metal band Grave Digger, marking the band's 45th anniversary. The bottle pays tribute to Grave Digger's dark, heavy sound—and you taste it immediately.

Made from intensely peated Scottish malt (80 ppm) and matured for four years in Spanish Tempranillo red wine casks. This pairing of heavy smokiness with wine influence creates something unexpected: a whisky that is not merely smoky, but textured and layered.

The nose leads with smoke and peat, backed by caramel undertones. On the palate it feels fuller than such an intensely peated profile might suggest—the wine casks contribute softness and complexity. The finish is long and smoky, with subtle sweetness that tempers the rawness.

This is whisky for those who embrace heavy peat and don't shy from character. The Grave Digger partnership feels authentic rather than gimmick—the design and composition genuinely align with that aesthetic.
