Winter Storm Batch 2 21J-\/2018

Winter Storm was born from Malt Master Brian Kinsman's visit to Peller Estates, a renowned Canadian winery, in January 2016. It is the third release in Glenfiddich's Experimental Series — a line in which the distillery explores unconventional finishes. The whisky was matured for 21 years in American oak barrels before undergoing a 12-week finish in French oak ice wine casks from Peller.

That ice wine finish steers this Speyside malt in an unexpected direction. The result balances classic Glenfiddich character—vanilla, toffee, barley warmth—with fruity, wine-forward notes drawn from the Canadian wood. On the palate, bergamot and mint emerge alongside a silky mouthfeel and light oak tannin bite. The finish is dry and brief, with lingering caramel and wine.
